Quickpage Freebie for you

Spring is officially here in the U.S. Break out the gardening tools – that is, after the last frost! I think this is the longest winter I’ve ever experienced. I love winter, don’t get me wrong, but I am SOO ready for those pretty little flowers to poke up out of my ground and spray me with pollen so I can sneeze my way through the day.

The good news is that the Royal Court Muses have been hard at work creating gorgeousness to give away to you. Kimberly Stewart’s beautiful kit Beary Fun just screams Spring with all of its fun colors and flowers. So Laurie (aka Purple Princess) created a fantastic quick page for you. Don’t forget to run over to Rina Kroes’ blog and pick up the matching template.

This is the beautiful kit she used by Kimberly:

Clown 12x12 Quick Page freebie and on the hunt for...

the Royal Court Freebies

First up is a wonderful freebie created by Royal Court Muse Charne, a 12x12 Clown Quick Page. She crafted this darling page using my Clowns Kit. I am hoping that my new internet friend, Lorie, will like it. She loves clowns, especially Pierrots.

Click here to download - no password needed.
This brings me to what I am on the hunt for! I am in search of commercial use Pierrot images, whether it is clip art, hand drawn, doodles and so forth. If you know of or have seen some, please let me know! I would really appreciate it!

If you are unsure of what Pierrot Clowns are, keep reading... I have a bit of information for you along with some images of what I am talking about! :)

Pierrot: When the Commedia Dell'Arte expanded from Italy to France in the 16th century, one of the standard characters known as Piero came to be called Pierrot. The personality of the character underwent a metamorphosis as well. The country bumpkin Piero transformed to play a fuller range of emotions. Reflecting the dilemmas of his audience, he was sometimes lovesick or frightened. His mood and style, poetic in movement, created an empathic touching on deep, human emotions. While the English Mime shows featured wild wigs and reddish makeup, the French shows had their main comic relief character appear in white-face with neat, elegant highlights to accentuate his features.

During the 1800s, the most notable of the French mimes was a Pierrot player named Jean Gaspard Deburau, the son of a Paris theatrical director. He used his acrobatic talents to advantage, adding a new dimension to the character. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Deburau remained a true mime, speaking with only his limbs and facial expressions. His success is a major reason why the romantic Pierrot mime is considered a continental figure today, whereas the more decorated or painted-face clowns are historically linked to England and the United States.

Thank you for taking the time to read the entire post! Have a great weekend!!
